I started my career in the insurance industry in 2001 immediately after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a minor in Music.  I began a scratch agency in Kiowa, Colorado, as an agent for FUSA, where I quickly expanded to two locations prior to becoming the COO in the fall of 2014.

I currently live in Castle Rock, Colorado with my wife of 20 years and I have two children. My hobbies include watching movies with my family, playing golf, frequenting Disney World, hunting, playing trumpet in various community bands and churches, and volunteering at his local church where I run the sound board for weekend services.

My name is Doug Compton and have spent the past 20 + years as an Insurance Professional.  I am currently the Director of Sales for FUSA Insurance Agency, where
I work with the Field Managers and key stakeholders (e.g. Underwriting, Product) in the development and maintenance of an effective sales plan. I also incorporate marketing and business plans capable of producing net written premium, loss ratio and retention goals for the agency at or above target.

I currently serve as the Operations Manager with FUSA managing the day to day operations of the agency, facilitating efficient and productive workflows while working with over sixty small retail agencies. I have over 30 years of progressive and successful experience in the insurance industry, along with CIC, CRM, & CISR designations.

On a personal note, I enjoy serving on the PIIAC (Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Colorado) Board of Directors. I have a genuine interest in finding ways to meet the diverse needs of all Insurance Professionals in this continually changing industry.

I have been in the Denver, CO area for 20 plus years. I love the outdoors and also enjoy spending time with my family including my two little Chihuahuas who truly believe that they are part wolf!

Raised in Evanston, Wyoming, I’ve lived in Colorado for over 25 years in Aspen and Denver, and have enjoyed working at FUSA Insurance for the past 13.  As an outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy the mountains where I camp, snowboard and ski, and ride my adventure motorcycle.  At home, I have a rescue mutt Gus.  When not outside or traveling, I am the Marketing Manager at FUSA Insurance, where I am responsible for all the in-house and marketing for our 65 agents.

I was raised in Arvada, Colorado and attended Colorado State University. My roots in the Rockies run deep and I’m proud to call Colorado my home, and I love my Denver Broncos and CSU Rams. I’m blessed with 4 amazing kids and my wife Christen.  We love the Colorado outdoors and all that it has to offer, including our particular passions of running, cycling, and golf.  My love of family and faith informs everything that I do, and has been central to my career in helping other families find success in the insurance business.

I started in the insurance business as an agent with Farmers Insurance in 1999. In 2004, I was appointed as District Manager for a large district in the Denver metro area. After joining FUSA in 2019, my role as Director of Field Operations for FUSA has truly been the highlight of my professional career. I feel like I’m family here, and I love working for an organization that values their people and constantly strives for excellence. I’m blessed to be a part of such a special team of professionals.

I am the Personal Lines Sales Manager for FUSA Insurance Agency in Colorado. I started with FUSA as an agent in Littleton in 2000,  then in 2006 I became a District Manager with FUSA and in 2023 transitioned to the role of Personal Lines Sales Manager. I  really enjoy the family philosophy at FUSA Insurance and the great relationships I have built over the years. I feel Education is an important part of our success. I earned my CIC designation in 2015, and the annual educational courses keep me updated with this ever-changing industry!

My wife and I live in Highlands Ranch and really enjoy everything it has to offer. In my spare time, I enjoy Golfing, Skiing, Mountain Biking and Camping.  My wife and I are involved in local community activities, and my wife volunteers for Meals on wheels, and really enjoys helping people.

• Actively engaged in learning and in writing large accounts with an emphasis in growing the Commercial Agribusiness and Oil & Gas Program
• Work with the District Managers to establish sales incentives and/or contests
• Lead progressive training and education and provide motivation to reach goals
• Review each carriers’ niche class codes and market to their strengths
• Attend Carrier/Industry Meetings and events to promote FUSA
• Underwrite and determine the correct market(s) to quote and coordinate the gathering of additional information required. Submit to carries where necessary.
• Manage assigned “book of business” through annual review of renewals, monitoring the input of activities for accuracy.
• Manage policies through accurate processing of endorsements and any interim policy activity.

Brad works with agents as a mentor and to help provide sales assistance through direct sales, sales development, education and training in the area of Life Insurance. Brad also oversees and manages the multiple plan and product offerings of FUSA’s individual and group Health Insurance markets, as well as the carriers and plans offered th rough the State and Federal Marketplaces.
Outside of insurance, Brad is also a live music photographer for over 40 years, and has had the opportunity of being a photographer for venues and magazines, has taken photos of numerous well known artists and bands. He and his wife, Tammy, have been married for 31 years, and have two grown children, his daughter, who is medical esthetician, and their son is an Allstate agent, as well as two dogs. Their favorite family activity is vacationing to locations where they can SCUBA dive.

I am the New Mexico Marketing and Sales Manager. I am a Colorado native, raised in Colorado Springs and currently reside in Lafayette, Colorado with my wife Coral. I also have two grown children, Brandon and Makena and three grandchildren.
I attended Colorado State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education and a Master of Science degree in Agriculture Business.
I am an active member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and an influence and adviser for many rodeos around Colorado.
In 2007, I was recognized as the Agent of the Year Award by Rocky Mountain Farmers Union.  My designations and accreditations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS), and Agribusiness and Farm Specialist (AFIS).
In my free time I enjoy judging local CPRA rodeos and doing leather work such as building saddles, belts, and purses.

• Policy Placement: The Account Managers are responsible for policy submission, market placement, all while maintaining an elevated level of service to the agents, the insured, and our business partners.
• Policy Maximization: Account Mangers work with the agents to direct the flow of profitable business within the FUSA Brokerage of approved markets; helps agents identify the appropriate carrier to bind a policy with, which will provide the best coverage, rate, and maximize commission payout to agents; provides direction for the agents in the submission of complete and professional applications (with an emphasis on admitted markets).

My name is Victoria Knipps and I am an Account Manager here at FUSA. I have been in the insurance industry since 2019, and am licensed in Property, Casualty, and Life insurance. Though I am well-versed in personal lines I specialize in commercial accounts. I have a thirst for knowledge and am always looking to learn something new.

Outside of work I have many hobbies including cooking, reading, playing video games, and exercising. I spend a lot of time outdoors, but may be the only Colorado native who does not like to ski/snowboard.

I could not do any of this without my family, friends, and pup Delilah to whom I am forever grateful for their unwavering love and support.

Hello, my name is Shelley Westphal and I’m the controller at Rocky Mountain Farmers Union and Farmers Union Service Association.  I’ve been with the company since March 2019 and have enjoyed every minute since I started.  I began my career with a non-profit organization that I interned with in college called Partners, Inc.  After three years with that organization, I moved on to a larger non-profit called Seniors, Inc.  I spent 14 years working as their controller.  From there I moved away from the non-profit community to a manufacturer’s representative company and spent six years as their controller.  Prior to coming to RMFU/FUSA my husband and I owned an auto body shop repairing cars for Enterprise.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a minor in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1993. (Go Bears!)  I received my Master’s in Accounting from Colorado University at Denver. I’m a licensed CPA in Colorado.

My family keeps me very busy.  I have a son who is 18 and two stepdaughters who are 17 and 19.  My husband and I are almost empty nesters which sometimes seems strange and different.  It is an exciting time in life when they are trying to figure out who they are and what they want to do, and we are busy figuring out what we are going to do with our newfound free time.

I’m originally from Baca County Colorado and still call Springfield my home even though we live in Castle Rock, Colorado.  My parents are still back in Springfield, and I have a passion for rural Colorado towns.  In my free time I volunteer with the non-profit organization Rebuild Rural America Inc. that works with small, isolated Colorado communities on economic development and infrastructure improvement.

Karrie is a 2^nd generation FUSA Insurance Agency employee.  She replaced her mom, Betty Pickett, when she retired in October 1998.  Karrie works in accounting and commissions and takes pride in making sure every transaction she keys is correct, especially for the agents.  As a kid Karrie dreamt of being a truck driver with a big red, white, and blue swirl-painted semi or a veterinarian.   Thankfully,   accounting became more of her thing as she hates driving long distances and has too soft of a heart to be a vet. Karrie can honestly say she LOVES working for FUSA, as it is truly the greatest company she has ever worked for and can’t imagine working anywhere else.

In Karrie’s spare time, her twins (who are in high school) keep her busy with volleyball and golf, along with planning their futures and which University they’ll attend. Karrie and her husband and kids are very involved in summertime on the water. They spend every warm weekend wake surfing, tubing, floating,  soaking up the sun, and grilling for family and friends.  Karrie is also an avid dog lover and has two rescue dogs, Goose and Rip. She wouldn’t have her life any other way.

I started my career at Farmers Union Service Association in 1993 as an assistant account manager, and then account manager until the birth of my first child in 2001.  After the birth of my twins in 2004, I transitioned to the accounting department and I have remained there to the present time.  I handle premium accounts receivables, agency bill company payables and direct bill commissions.  I have so enjoyed working for FUSA and can’t imagine being anywhere else!

Outside of work I am a passionate reader – when I have the time.  I also love the outdoors and hiking in our beautiful mountains here in Colorado.  My husband and I are very much involved with all 3 of our kids’ schools and extracurricular activities which I absolutely loved doing throughout the years.  My oldest son is currently attending CSU and my twin girls are high school seniors and looking to embark in college life as well.  So even though my nest may soon be empty, I can’t wait to see what life holds in store for my wonderful family as we embark in the next phase!

I orchestrate meetings and events for the FUSA management team and its agents such as the Spring Rendezvous, Fall Convention, Prospector’s Club and Millionaire’s Clubs.  Overseeing the details and delivering creative and new experiences for each event are key to my work.  My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences from Metropolitan State University of Denver, Web Developer certification from Regis University and a Career Development Facilitator certification from the National Career Development Association.

In my personal time, you will find me working fiercely on my tennis moves with hopes of improving my game.  While my dreams for playing Wimbledon have longed past it doesn’t stop me from dreaming.  I also love home decorating and am currently working to modernize a townhome that I bought a year ago.  Patterns, texture, and color have become the new norm in my life.  However, my number one passion is my boyfriend, Scott, who shares in my love for the game of tennis and home decorating as well as binging on quirky independent films.

Licensing compliance, code assignments, finance quoting, problem solving, and customer service are just some of the things I focus during the workday. I also work with management, agents, staff, and insurance companies to improve the way we do business. My work background is diverse and includes running a lumber yard, selling educational toys, scrubbing for surgeries, and insurance. In the 14 years I have worked in insurance, eight of those years have been with FUSA.

I am also a native to Colorado and prefer to live surrounded by wheat fields where I can watch the sun set behind the mountains. I enjoy traveling and have visited many places including Israel, Japan, and Belize. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren often playing board games, reading books aloud, cheering in the stands at a sporting event, or rocking a baby. I also participate annually in the Denver Walk Like MADD event with a team of family and friends.
